Reviving a School, Restoring Hope
For over thirteen years, Government Public School Muldeh in Union Council Ayun, Lower Chitral, stood in a state of neglect by lack of funds. Its crumbling infrastructure and lack of basic facilities left more than a hundred children—many of them girls—struggling to learn in an unfavourable and dispiriting environment.
Through the PPAF-funded Restoring Social Services & Climate Resilience Project, the school has been given a new lease of life. Its classrooms have been restored, its walls repaired and brightened with fresh paint and art, and its floors made safe for learning. Essential services such as water supply, plumbing, electrification, first aid facilities, and information materials have also been provided, ensuring that students and teachers can thrive in a safe, dignified space.
What was once a derelict building is now a vibrant centre of learning, alive with the voices of children who finally have the environment they deserve. For these young students, the transformation represents not just better classrooms, but restored dignity, renewed opportunity, and hope for a brighter future.
