COVERAGE

Balochistan – Loralai, Kohlu

PPAF is providing scholarships for quality educational services to out-of-school children of coal miners from Loralai and Kohlu in Balochistan through the Chamalang Education Project. This initiative, implemented in collaboration with the Pakistan Army, has tremendously improved enrollment in a region that was generally ignored prior to this intervention.

Since the project’s inception, more than 25,000 scholarships have been awarded to students, with a majority transitioning into secondary schools. Currently, PPAF supports 2,394 actively enrolled students including 555 girls up to the higher secondary level by directly providing tuition fees to 15 partner schools.

PPAF also continues to support annual exposure visits for students to promote civic engagement and cross-cultural learning. In the most recent tour in October 2026, a group of 90 students visited key historical and national landmarks in both Lahore and Islamabad, providing them with invaluable opportunities to interact with people from diverse environments and learn from cross-cultural experiences.
