Bridging Educational Polarization for Social Harmony (Phase II)

Funded through the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund’s (PPAF) Own Resources with an investment of PKR 70 million, Phase II of the Bridging Educational Polarization for Social Harmony initiative directly addresses educational exclusion, limited livelihood opportunities, and social fragmentation in Balochistan. Implemented by the Centre for Peace and Development (CPD) across Quetta, Pishin, and Mastung, this 24-month project builds upon Phase I—which provided Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) Packages A–C to 1,168 students, upgraded infrastructure across 15 madrassahs and 5 minority places of worship, and saw 850 students pass the Balochistan Assessment and Examination Commission (BAEC) primary-level exams. Phase II ensures educational continuity by supporting these 850 primary graduates through ALP Packages D and E, enabling them to earn a recognized middle-level BAEC certificate and pathing the way for secondary education and vocational growth.

Beyond middle-school academic progression, the initiative delivers an integrated, holistic approach to youth empowerment, social inclusion, and interfaith harmony among underserved communities. Over the project duration, 120 young people will receive Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) along with specialized toolkits to boost local employability. The program also integrates targeted teacher capacity development, life-skills education, exposure visits, sports, co-curricular activities, and interfaith dialogue. By reinforcing academic gains alongside practical skills and peacebuilding efforts, the project fosters economic independence, mutual tolerance, and peaceful coexistence across Balochistan.
