In Village Bhrore, UC Sena Daman, District Hattian Bala (AJK), limited access to modern agricultural knowledge had long prevented local farmers from fully benefiting from their cultivable land. Through PPAF’s Local Area Development Programme (LADP), this began to change as community members came together to learn, share experiences, and adopt improved farming practices.

Among them was Abdul Waheed, a local farmer who participated in agricultural capacity-building training designed to equip communities with practical and sustainable cultivation techniques. Motivated by the collective learning process, he applied the newly acquired methods on his land, introducing improved soil management practices and scientific crop cultivation techniques that significantly enhanced productivity.

Recognising the value of shared learning, the community collectively supported the establishment of a demonstration farm under the programme. With mutual community agreement, Abdul Waheed allocated a portion of his land so that fellow farmers could observe modern agricultural practices firsthand and learn through practical exposure.

The demonstration farm has evolved into a community learning space where farmers regularly exchange knowledge, witness improved farming outcomes, and gain confidence in adopting sustainable agricultural methods. What began as an individual effort has now become a catalyst for collective action, strengthening community mobilisation around climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture in the village.
