Reinforcing its sterling performance in the earthquake-affected areas, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) has allocated Rs. 134 million to help IDPs through an integrated development program which includes social mobilization, initial rehabilitation, access to potable water, vocational and skill training, health services and informal education. PPAF has been allocated IDPs camps in Jalozai (Pabbi-District Nowshera), Sheikh Shahzad (Mardan), Jalala (Mardan), Sheikh Yasin (Mardan), Shah Mansoor I-II (Swabi) and Yar Hussain (Chota Lahore-Swabi) where it is implementing various interventions through its partner organizations. Interventions
The Community Organizations (COs) formed by PPAF are playing a heroic role in the host districts. These COs are supporting IDPs and are providing multi-faceted hosting services involving almost every household of their villages. The PPAF investment in establishing social infrastructure & community is paying back in a great way PPAF staff has also donated one-day salary to the Prime Minister’s special fund for victims of terrorism and is determined to play its role as a bridge between the government, donor agencies and the IDPs.
