Our Vision
Restoring Hope, Securing the Future,
Ending Poverty
Our Philosophy
Ishq – Ilm - Amal
Our philosophy is based on the three
elements of passion, knowledge and practice. We are passionate about alleviating
poverty and believe that the way to do this is through the use of knowledge supported
by our underlying principals of social inclusion and equality, ensuring that we
practice what we preach.
Target population
Our target groups are poor and extremely
poor rural and urban communities across Pakistan. We place special emphasis on social
inclusion, especially on gender equality and the empowerment of women. Under our
current strategy we have identified six levels of priority districts for our grant-funded
and micro-finance interventions, based on certain classifications. These classifications
include:
-
Districts that are below/above the
average HDI score for Punjab*
-
Extremely food insecure, food insecure
or borderline food insecure districts**
-
Districts in which social mobilization
has/has not already been undertaken by PPAF and/or partners
-
Districts where Micro Finance is feasible
and appropriate
*HDI = Human Development

Food Programme classification system
