Board Members

Mr. Omar Hamid Khan is Additional Secretary, Economics Affairs Division (EAD). He is the nominee director of Government of Pakistan and joined PPAF as Board of Directors on January 15, 2015.

Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Qureshi has M.Sc degree in economics from University of London. He is also a Law graduate. He is a senior educationist and development professional. He served university of Sindh for 28 years. He had been consultant on various projects of World Bank, Asian Development Bank, FAO of the United Nations and Swiss Development Corporation. He has been a fellow of international visitors program under USIS. He has also been a visiting fellow at WYE College, Ashford, Kent England. He is author of 15 books on development, economy, culture, social issues of the society and history. He also served as General Manager in Sindh Irrigation and Drainage Authority (SIDA). He is associated with PPAF as Member since January 25, 2016.

Mr. Syed Ahmad Raza Asif is Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan. He is the nominee director of Government of Pakistan and joined PPAF as Board of Directors on December 17, 2015.

Dr. M. Suleman Shaikh is Secretary to the Board of Trustees of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Technology (SZABIST). He is a physician by profession but is known for his contribution in the development sector. He held various important positions: Chairman of Thardeep Rural Development Program; Member Board of Governors of Sindhi Language Authority and the Honorary Chief Executive of Sindh Rural Support Organization. Mr. Shaikh is also the founding member of Sindh Graduates Association. He was member of the Board of Directors of Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) Pakistan. Dr. M. Suleman Shaikh was elected as Board Member of PPAF on January 25, 2016.

Ms. Roshan Khursheed Bharucha is the CEO of HUNAR foundation and Chairperson of SOS Village. Presently, the Acting Chairperson of National Commission for Human Development and is board member of many NGOs and universities. Her Efforts for Education and Vocational Training got her Human Rights Award and Social Work Award from USA. If that’s not enough, she is also an ex-senator and minister. She was elected as Board Member of PPAF on January 25, 2016.

Mr. Ahlullah Khan is a former civil servant. He was elected as Board Member of PPAF on January 25, 2016.


Dr. Ijaz Nabi is the Country Director for IGC Pakistan and Professor of Economics Lahore University of Management Sciences. He is also member of Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, Chief Minister Punjab’s advisory Council and the Monetary Policy Committee of the State Bank of Pakistan. He is an Economic Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab. In October 2009, he was appointed Pakistan Country Director, International Growth Center, a policy research consortium of London School of Economics and Oxford University. Dr Nabi returned to Pakistan in 2008 after 22 years at the World Bank in Washington where he worked on Mexico, Korea, Thailand (leading the World Bank team during the East Asian financial crisis), Malaysia, Korea, Laos and Myanmar. He was appointed Board Member of PPAF on July 11, 2016.

Qazi Azmat Isa has 25 years of experience in development sector. He is currently the Chief Executive of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund which is a multipurpose autonomous development institution with interventions in Energy, Infrastructure, Disaster Management, Institutional Development, Livelihood Enhancement and Protection, Health, Education and Disability. Prior to this he was with the World Bank working in the rural and social sectors for the last 12 years. His last posting with the bank was in Kabul where he managed the largest community driven development program in the Bank’s portfolio as well as initiated a nationwide rural enterprise development program. Before that he was head of an NGO in his province of Balochistan. He is the CEO of PPAF since January 2011.
